I am very satisfied with this lens. It is much better handled than the old "Canon EF-S 18-135 IS II". It has less game, the zoom is firmer (does not run by itself out) and it has in all cases now also a lock-fixing at 18 mm. Otherwise, the image quality is also improved dramatically, especially in the sharpness and chromatic aberrations. Also, the AF is much faster and now silently through the STM-engine. I am very happy with it and have it on my EOS 70D as "Always top" standard lens. Only the lens hood Canon might enhance something. These costs, as always with Canon, about 25 to 30, - EUR manufactured separately and is also very scratch-sensitive, cheap plastic. Would be nice if the plastic had a slight graining. That would make it clear to the high price. This shortcoming has nothing to do with the lens itself. Therefore strong buy recommendation!
