These two versions differ in the processing, you can see it because the Nahtwülste are held slightly wider in this embodiment than in the other. I find this design with the broader Nahtwülsten visually appealing, it looks fine, simply because more leather was processed. For processing: The cover consists of a (in my opinion to excessively strong) rubber sheath similar to a bicycle tire, which was then coated with a thin leather. This is evident also from the smell, it does not smell of leather, but after rubber as in a tire warehouse. But it is not an unpleasant chemical odor.
The external processing is excellent, the seams are very clean, and I had to cut and sear only two protruding threads. Inside, however, no special care was applied, all the threads are only roughly knotted and hanging out loose. There you will find also a lot of rubber crumbs or other particles. I have the inside several times wiped with a damp cloth and cut off all the threads hanging out with a pair of nail scissors and singed the ends with a lighter.
At this point, equal to the Note: This reference is intended for steering wheels without own leather! Who has the intention to use it as an additional protection for the real leather steering wheel, should abandon this idea quickly! The uneven interior with bonded leather ends, the knotted stitching and rough rubber surface will inevitably cause damage to the actual steering wheel!
The mounting is a hell work, on the one hand, because it is very difficult, on the other hand, because it takes several attempts before finally the seams as evenly seated in the right positions, as they should. Previous heating works wonders. It would be ideal in a heated by the sun car when the rubber sheath is buttery soft and stretchy. Since I have it mounted in the winter, had to reach a 20km ride with fully turned Heating. I have raised it from below because it easier alignment of the stitching on the steering wheel spokes is possible. At the end of the winding turns not so bad as it looked initially as.
As might be expected, the grip circumference increases with this coating naturally immense. And although I had expected, I was taken aback by the actual extent. I wear gloves size 9-10, have not so little hands, but feel it is still much too thick. I think the inner tire could have been much thinner. For this, I subtract a star. But otherwise a very nice steering wheel cover, which contributes much to the appreciation of the cockpit and gives especially the pleasant feel of a leather steering wheel. One can recommend this with a clear conscience.
