Respect. Quality and installation of the support there is nothing to complain about. The carrier makes a stable impression and has mastered the first biking holiday very good.
The initial installation takes about 30 minutes including license plates. This is fastened with retaining clips, so you need no additional license plate holder, which must be screwed or similar.
The vertical bar can quickly fold without any tools, so that the carrier taken in 2-3 minutes from the trailer hitch and placed in the trunk. Fits the way in VW Tiguan exactly in the trunk.
Wheel installation:
The guide rails for the wheels can be off. The ratchet for fixing the wheels are however firmly mounted. I initially had in mind here that this presents problems with larger wheelbase. Wheelbases to 1200mm are definitely not a problem. Vielleich goes even a bit more, unfortunately I have yet to try out any larger. Although a DH bike with wide handlebars is on the inner carrier there are no problems with respect. Distance between the rear window and handlebars. And the trunk can be opened also when the carrier is tilted. I think that will be a problem in other estate cars or SUVs.
The middle guide rail can be moved, so that changing the distances between the wheels. What leads here on the one hand to more space, makes on the other hand of course for less distance, which leads to the only problem in turn -> Downhill Three large wheels is one I do not think can be mounted easily. If the rear triangle on all three wheels is 150mm wide, it is probably to dismantle closely with the forks and one would have anyway a handlebar.
I think that now is not too tragic, because the problem I do not think can be solved at all rear racks. I have previously transported the bikes on the roof and I needs a huge distance between the outer wheels, so that the arm does not interfere arrived at the top in the way. And with Direct-mount handlebars at DH bike you can not even just turn the handlebar so well.
But 2 DH wheels and a standard mountain bike, road bike or Dirter is less problematic.
All in all I am very happy with the support, even if it is still a mystery to me, that is the principle on the towbar as stable :-)
