Now I had the opportunity to test the Philips HP8663 / 00 Essential Care Air Styler, and I was curious to see how the Air Styler would suggest so.
First, it should be noted that the Air Styler has three heat levels, which automatically ions are supplied when you turn the device to obtain a shiny and smooth result.
Unfortunately, the cold stage is not really cold, but only lukewarm, which is not quite so conducive to a fixation of the styling in my eyes. After allowing this stage due to their low heat but a very gentle styling.
The package includes four Aufsteckaufsätze (more on this later), which can be attached simply and easily to the Fönbürste. All parts are good and clean processes, the Air Styler is pleasantly light and fits comfortably in your hand. Thanks to the movable cable joint, easy handling without the clutter is possible. I personally find the Airstyler as quite noisy (like a hair dryer). The phone or the doorbell are not heard when using the device in any case.
Philips recommends the hair dry towel to dry the same time as the Air Styler and to style. In principle, the whole works, after all, as with hair dryer and brush, only that the device combines the two components precisely. I personally take the drying and styling to the pure drying the hair with the Air Styler however too long, so I my hair first "vorföne" until it just holds enough moisture to the styling to complete (after all, it handle not Hairdressers nothing as well).
After this procedure, the Air Styler can then also score with its functionality. It allows an uncomplicated styling, without fiddling with hair dryer and brush and brings thanks to 800Watt, the various essays and the variable heat levels still the same results.
However, you can not expect miracles in the Air Styler.
Both the Paddlebrush attachment, as well as the thermal brush with 38mm is designed for smooth and wavy hairstyles and bring in my eyes no more results than hair dryer and brush. The styling result is comparable to the results which can be achieved with a flat iron or a large curling iron neither in life nor in effect.
The brush with retractable brush rows allows only slight curls, which detach quickly and can the results of a curling iron in terms of durability and precision not keep up also.
The meaning of the narrow styling nozzle has me unfortunately not yet opened because this in my eyes an external brush is needed, which would jeopardize the purpose of (a device for all) the entire Airstylers then in question.
My conclusion:
The Air Styler is a good complement to conventional hair dryer, this, in my view, however, can not replace ganzumfänglich. For a final and careful styling with loose results, how they can be reached with hairdryer and brush up, the Air Styler is however to very good use, because it bypasses a complicated fiddling with hair dryer and brush, burning the hair by the adjustability of the heat stages prevented and the styling process itself also considerably simplified.
For more precision and durability in detail, but I would never give up my flat iron and Co, here where not fully given the hair protection and the desired end result is of course another.
But to work your way to the Air Styler is also useful here, because this is obtained by a fine hair structure, which is the styling results with the curling iron is also conducive.
