After much back and forth I switched from a Tamron 18-270mm PZD on this Tamron 16-300mm PZD. However, the first objective went back for a wrong focus. With the Second everything was fine. Since I was quite satisfied with the predecessor model, my expectations were quite high for the new model. Of course there is a Mega zoom. To go zoom imaging performance over the entire zoom range with the expectation of Mega, is the wrong approach. I use the lens on a Nikon D5300 exclusively as a travel lens. Because on a journey plays for me weight, maneuverability and little accessories a major role. Since it does not bother me that it is something "soft" at the long end. Therefore, here's the positive points: - The lens is very well made - Metal bayonet and fuel Water Rights - Enormous range of focal lengths from 16 to 300mm - Good image quality (grade in terms of the huge zoom factor) - Effective image stabilizer - Tired of running zoom ring with ZoomLock - Weight
Neutral points: - At the long end slightly softer (but I think for a superzoom lens for normal)
Negative points: - I can not find for me.
Of course it does not come close to the standards of prime lenses or f2.8 Zoom's, but that's not the goal. Those looking for a lightweight, handy travel lens with good properties is right here. Therefore I a strong buy recommendation. Greeting skyless
