The manual (also downloadable for unregistered clients AEG PDF) is German / English, illustrated and can be in some places left guessing. At about 80%, I found it to read, using the PDF version of the printed (the scope of delivery) issue is preferable. The PDF was apparently created from an InDesign document, you can zoom without loss of quality even when the drawings and so recognize the details in the drawings clearly better than on paper.
After commissioning (ie assembly) was the first "cleaning efficiency" so that a blessing. The defective old sucker, now occupies the place of the "AUP 3840C" in having had no remote control on the handle, or even at all a handle end of the hose. The wireless remote control (FFB) worked perfectly through it can be the unit in the standby mode or from this switch in the suction mode. The standby mode is established as soon as you put the plug into the (live) electrical outlet. The foot switch "on / off" on the unit and the "on / off" switch the FFB have exactly the same function. Say, the use of the foot switch does not finish the standby mode. In this, the display shows on the top (Saugstufenanzeige) the digit zero. Steps 1 to 5 can be easily and reliably off the FFB. After pausing during the last selected level will maintain.
At level 5, the suction is very high; my normal Auslegeware I could well suck at maximum level 4. The 5 is likely to be special tasks reserved. Easy Pieces tried the "AUP 3840C" then "einzuhamstern". The same happens for example with the caption of the desk phone, if it (with the brush attachment of the included 3-in-1 combination nozzle) sucks at a higher level than 2.
The "3-in-1 Kobidüse" (upholstery nozzle, crevice nozzle, and tip), I was initially skeptical about; my old sucker had 3 separate nozzle in the vehicle accessories. The practical use should the opinion but quickly change: It's just nice, not constantly having to attach a different nozzle may have stayed from sucking in the other room back there. With only a nozzle that you just have to turn around and unfold (for use as upholstery), the work goes faster. One no longer needs to constantly reach for the currently used nozzle. The bristles of the brush approach are pretty long (unlike that of the old sucker) and soft. This could be great as the desk, the PC keyboard, aspirate the bookshelf and things like that. The "3-in-1 nozzle" is definitely a plus point of the sucker.
As a further plus point I regard the fact to now never have to buy expensive dust bags again. The dust container is transparent, you can empty it at the end of "Putz orgy" easily over the trash can. It looks so good, how much dust has accumulated since the last cleaning (that was the test but more than expected).
The filter of the "AUP 3840C" can be cleaned. Only the motor filter (to be cleaned) makes no more robust impression than that of the old sucker. As a precaution, I also ordered here after commissioning 1x Reserve at Amazon after. The other filters are all washable. If eventually the replacement of a HEPA filter require, there are two variants: Do not wash (in green plastic lattice) and washable (in light blue plastic grille). AEG has given this unit included the more expensive, washable HEPA filter. Money for consumables is thus in the long run no longer be necessary.
CONCLUSION: After the first test (on two days a complete apartment once sucked) I am delighted with the sucker, because compared to my predecessor device, it enables provide a significant assistance and waiving the expensive vacuum cleaner bags. Two negative points would be mentioned: First (and the large painted out) the oval design of approaches to pipe and tube (AEG secures so that you buy only original accessories) and secondly, the need of improvement in parts manual.
Supplement for 5 months of use: The vacuum cleaner is still going great and has already saved a few anthers :-) I would buy him stand today again and recommend it. The only (for the vacuum cleaner may not): Cleaning is simply annoying ;-) (but is much easier than without this device)
