I abandoned (not without trying) to configure the server to access the images away from home.
by cons, I managed to set the video laccès wifi at home whether the PC (requires Chrome to install a plug in), smartphone or tablet (running Android with App Trendnet dedicated).
but what I wanted most of all: receive images, or am on my mailbox in case of motion detection.
I managed, not without difficulty, but not without help! a big thank you also to other Amazon customers who have responded to my distress message;)
you avoid my woes, here is the procedure I followed:
- Download the app on Trendnet page: [.....]
(Start by connecting the camera ethernet, even if you want to connect wifi then).
- Follow the installation guide (at this point the setup is not very complicated).
- Well remember the IP address to be associated with the camera (type 192.168.x.xx)
it is through this address that accesses the live video, but also all settings / parameters of the camera, broken down as follows:
- "Assistant" (I selected DHCP connection, but have not activated the PPPoE or dynamic DNS)
- "System" (passwords, time, date). you can disable the LED (indiscreet) of the camera
- "Network" (again I selected DHCP connection). for wifi must juggle the security and encryption type of box (WPA2-PSK and AES in my case).
- "Video / Audio" (picture settings, loudspeaker and microphone)
- "Action" in the "music video", select "Trigger by motion" and set the "target" menu "email", by pressing the "SSL-TLS" (it did not work without, in my case).
- "Detect ° mvt" can precisely set area and sensitivity. attention: a shady tree in the wind enough to trigger sending a clip!
- Tools (catering, reset)
- Advanced (and firmware version of events log).
beware: depending on the frequency of transmission, duration of the clip, the sensitivity and the area covered by motion detection, you might receive a video 5MB every 5 minutes!
