Good, visually appealing device for a reasonable price

Since about one months this sandwich toaster is now with us in the household several times a week in service and are largely satisfied with it.
Unlike most other Sandwich Maker, the sandwiches Vedas not divided here into triangles, what I feel is a great advantage because the more surface fits into the sandwich.
The device does not only look forth something, it is for this price range also surprisingly well made. Inspiring confidence hinges, solid feet and a handle which certainly do not know of some competitors, already dropped from looking, raise hope for a long life. The current line of Derun direct to the upper plate is additionally protected by a steel braided sheath. Only the button to open the buckle is a little wobbly.
The shortcomings of the device are to get over at a price below 30 euros, are here but not go unmentioned.

- The cooking plates are minimal too small for the big sandwich slices (eg Rewe grains Sandwich). Thus, the wheels are about some millimeters, with the result that the lid can not be closed completely. The sandwiches succeed anyway, but some cheese may leak.
- Due to the graduation of Toasplatten arise many corners in which residues may stick, making it difficult to clean.
- The Teflon coating is much more vulnerable than, say, at an average non-stick pan. The sandwiches should'll necessarily taken only with wooden or plastic sliders.
- The product design is not entirely thought through. Between the lower plate of toast and the front plastic cover is a ca 1-2mm thin gap, in the light cheese can flow, which then laboriously has to be removed with a toothpicks or similar. All in all it is a very solid, visually appealing sandwich maker, the positive stands out not only by the sandwich form of the competition. It would be difficult to find at this price a better device.
