As cyclists, who also likes to ride with a helmet and warm ears during the winter, I ordered my two hats:
The Vaude Windproof Cap III and the Gore Bike Wear Universal softshell cap
... I have both returned. Previously I have however both caps tested in strong, cool wind (about 275 K :)).
As my shoulder is injured and typing is difficult for me a little, only a very small confrontation.
Mir has been fundamentally important to find a proper winter hat. They should be warm, comfortable and windproof. The fact that my ears from the intense cold protection when cycling, is particularly important to me. However, I also like the sound when other people being run over, which is why I wanted to hear something. ;)

+ Good fit.
+ Feels nice fluffy on the head of (fleece).
+ Fit with me. Well under the helmet
+ The material on the head (except for the earflaps area) is great: windproof and warm.
- The earflaps are indeed functional clothing for almost cuddly, BUT NOT windproof.
That you still want to hear something that is understandable, but I felt in high wind speeds and hear the cold in my ear.
Conclusion: Although my cap really well-liked, I could keep it impossible. I am, as I said, very important that my ears are protected.

+ Fit well.
+ Fits extremely well under the helmet, very thin.
+ The cap is actually windproof.
- For me not wintry enough. In cold air, the ears are cold quickly, not from the inside but from the outside, because the material is so thin. The cap is just not designed as a winter hat.
- The cap seals the ears off so that I sometimes had a feeling of pressure as under a swimming cap. Not very pleasant.
- It really does not hear more good if you wear the Gore-cap.
- The cap rustles loudly when one applies the helmet straps and sometimes in the wind.
Conclusion: The disadvantages meant that I did not want to keep them for slightly warmer seasons the cap.
I bought at the end of the "GORE BIKE WEAR Helmet Cap So Thermo", which I had previously overlooked. It fulfills my needs. Although no Windstopper membrane on the ears are still no wind comes in. It combines the advantages of the Vaude Cap III and the other Gore Softshell for me.
ADDENDUM:
Sometimes you have to wonder ... but funny when you criticized in a review an article and only receives good reviews and then falls in the favor of Amazon users ...
