Grace Jones + The Human Rhythm Machine in the luxury edition

Nightclubbing (Limited Edition) [Vinyl] (Vinyl)

Customer Review

It is generally accepted that the albums Warm Leatherette and nightclubbing (but for me personally Living My Life) are considered best Grace Jones. This may on the one hand be due to the choice of songs and Jones incomparable voice, on the other hand it is definitely at the airy and timeless production of Chris Blackwell and Alex Sadkin and on the human Rhtyhm machine Sly and Robbie, with so dodgy this album as brilliant grooves who commute always somewhere between reggae and funk, ausstatteten.

However, the new edition of nightclubbing has thankfully also on vinyl even more in two respects. First, because the album by the added 2nd LP is now twice as long and, secondly, because almost all the 12 versions which now were added even better than the original LP tracks.

Sonically could there anyway hardly improve what, the original editions of album and Maxis were nevertheless already outstanding. As a bonus, you can still get the two outtakes If You Wanna Be My Lover u. Me! I Disconnect From You. Va latter is a real gain and stop in any case the quality of the other tracks.

Even the 12 version of Walking In The Rain with the echo of the voice of the extended keyboard solo and the extra-long rhythmic passage at the end of white build tension, despite 7einhalb minutes will not be boring and sounds very conclusive. The party version of Pull Up To The Bumper then has a slightly different bass track and was also altered arrangement moderately, in such a way that it sounds cluttered. Use Me also acts in the long version upbeat and conclusive. The extended version of Feel Up remembers then conveniently, even more strongly to the outstanding Bowie / Pop Song Sister Midnight (aka Red Money) as the original LP.

So if you already liked the original album, which will be impressed by the twin pack and who this - you have to again emphasize timeless classic that still holds, which should now necessarily strike.

The vinyl edition is pressed tatdellos, comes on 2 fat 180gr. Discs, as is common today and the gatefold cover is made of thick dirt and fingerbadruckresistentem cardboard with a variation de well-known and beautiful accordion motif and the liner notes on the inside. So should a DeLuxe edition look. A large booklet with photos of that time would have been nice, but basically there is nothing to complain about here. The price on ama is relatively high, because I myself have the part purchased cheaper in a store at least 5 EUR.
