This model MTD-1053 is almost identical to its predecessor, only missing on the dial and caseback of this marlin (swordfish or marlin) that graced my old clock. The old one was definitely suitable for scuba diving, and has been with me here too often and without flooding. I seem to remember that this time Marlin those Casio watches were advertised that were expressly suitable for "Scuba Diving". According to the table on the package insert of all new watches are the Casio with "200M WATER RESISTANT" means suitable for scuba diving. Thus, the lack of Marlin is indeed represent a small optical, but no technical difference to the old model. Even without the now missing Marlin I find the watch design very well done without any frills sensible and attractive. The dial is easy to read and the date (now thanks to bifocals) easily recognizable without a magnifying glass. Pointer and various brands shine very good and long after sufficient sunlight to (see photo).
Design, size, weight and technical features are just perfect for me. The price (50) is completely blown away and I can give a strong buy recommendation for this clock.
PS: The Movement No. 2784 has remained the same, hence the accuracy will be unchanged and very good. In the few days since the delivery at least I could not detect any significant time difference. My watch I wear day and unfortunately often forget to remove them when times pending a craft activity. Therefore, I put in direct comparison, old versus new quite a few scratches on the old model fixed. It is, however, aged in dignity and even now looks really good. Also, the glass has gotten a few tiny flaws. However, it is not a sapphire crystal as a Vorrezensent wrote, but only mineral glass, but of apparently good quality. If the new clock will last 10 years again I'm super happy with this purchase.
