Great device for people who know what they can expect
Asus Eee PC 901 Go Linux Black 22.6 cm (8.9 inch) WSVGA Netbook (Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, 16GB HDD, UMTS / HSDPA, Linux) (Personal Computers) 4
I am thrilled with the netbook. I immediately installed Ubuntu 8.10. UMTS is now out of the box. The rest works fine with the kernel of array.org. EEE-Control does not hurt also. The speed is sufficient up to the SSD module. The processor is very rare on the 1.6 GHz (usually travels with 800Mhz) as not the SSD enforcement. For mobile surfing and for other little things (exactly what I need it), it is sufficient all and everyone I've met so far will also have something * g *. Who is aware of, should get along well with the loose 16GB. What bothers some is the fan runs often, but quieter than the normal hard drives laptops. The battery life is very impressive. When the battery bar turns red has one symbol due to current stress to come. If you then drive on the icon, it shows that you can still work 2h. The display brightness is austr-calibrating for outside, not overwhelming but sufficient. I now have installed Google Earth. Not running the same problem. There is a special startup script, since the runs pretty smoothly.
