As already reported, many before me: The AF hurts. He is really slow. The first time I was really shocked and wanted the camera almost wrap up and send it back again. I kept then yet to find any solution in the hope. Shortly after the new firmware came out and the result was surprisingly good! The AF is really much faster. Even with the 22mm pancake - although here some improvement is still possible. Snapshots are unfortunately hardly possible with the pancake.
A viewfinder I miss unfortunately. Again and again I find myself, as I bring the camera to the eye and then there's something missing. This is used to, as you have the feeling to take pictures with his cell phone.
Very good, I like the touch screen, the lot but needs to habituation. In poor lighting conditions (very bright environment) the brightness of the display is sufficient not quite. The problem you have but at virtually any screen. However, the color reproduction and contrast are above average!
There are several screen colors between which you can choose. Here I found the "night mode" (as I call him) especially great - ie black / red tones, so that the eye for example is at night to become accustomed to the darkness not disturbed. I shoot very like the night sky, so this mode is actually perfect. But what I do not understand here is that in the "normal" mode (not on the menu or program setting where then red / black predominates) then the characters are still white. This has no sense at all for me.
The case is very robust and high quality. Despite its small size, it fits comfortably in your hand. In addition to the display, there is a rotary knob, which is much more practical than buttons alone. Navigating much faster through photos and menu. The supplied in the kit 18-55mm lens M also acts much higher quality than the kit lens of the EOS DSLR. Here I find just a shame that the lens I can not see not, in which distance I just focusing. Otherwise, I'm excited for the first time from a kit lens. I usually use only fixed focal lengths. It's also quiet, which is good for video recording.
Another plus is that you can record HD video. During the video, you can make snapshots, which makes picking up for me more interesting. The image quality is both in the picture and in the video mode unique EOS Quality.
