The construction went pretty well even without guidance and the system is a real eye-catcher. Now have the front speakers positioned not next to the TV, but rather sideways (with stand). But had to connect longer speaker cables - which due to the terminals on boxes and main unit and 2 the individual adjustment of the distance boxes for each box is 1 single problem.
Then the first sound check with Orff's Carmina Burana "- was (first) rather sobering, since a dull roar to hear (as I said from the speakers) was after, however, the subwoofer was turned back by several steps followed by disillusionment enthusiasm not only. because of the brilliant, crystal-clear sound, but also the fact that the roar throughout the room was available and was not perceived from the direction of the subwoofer.
Because at least if you have a BluRay DD 5.1 inserts (subwoofer turns up again) is to appreciate this. Grandios this sound. Whether helicopter flight, the bubbling of a V8 or even a thunderstorm etc. A hammer sound that thrilled. Just as I had hoped for, although I had not expected that I expected pure cinema feeling. Looking forward every day again and again ... Even my wife, who was skeptical before enthusiastic - except when I occasionally hear so loud that the sound pressure of the bass the walls penetrates. Even then, the plant still significant performance / volume reserves.
A few more details:
- The system turns on automatically (can be set) when the TV is turned on, which is great because I the TV sound only want to hear so exclusively.
- ACR works from TV (at power of both components) well. So can remain on the TV and all hard drives. There had been problems when switching from radio to TV - have additionally an optical cable connected as this complaining the system previously.
-quality From the radio reception on the wire antenna was not particularly - have connected the system to the cable socket. Super sound quality. Unfortunately, no screen saver.
- Private-mode smartphone - works. More I can not say because I buy any 1200 watt system to hear the sound through headphones measly this. Here I believe would be an (additional) digital output for reasonable 5.1 wireless headphones make sense.
- Apps: Compared with the LG TV slightly different, albeit less apps - to my mind perfectly adequate
- 2 USB ports: description on their website that shot at the back a disk (and on the front, a USB stick) is simply wrong. Thought that the connection would be broken by my system. Rear connection is acc. To instructions but only for mouse or USB keyboard.
- Media playback via USB: selection works more like an explorer. Sorry, no selection for album, artist or genre (like this the LG TV works).
Regarding additional features, there is certainly still one or another optimization option. But my main concern when purchasing was not the extra functions, but expectations of an excellent sound and powerful bass - and in this regard I can fully give 5 stars.
Conclusion: A great home theater system that makes us great pleasure when one but possibly making friends while listening to the neighbors ;-)
