As such, I was the little camera really pleasantly surprised.
She seems stable and robust, so that the promised impact resistance and Waterproof appear quite believable up to ten meters.
Personally, I find just white plastic always something "cheap" looking, but because the appearance is firstly a matter of taste, the device in other colors is second available and indeed also more important in a camera on the inner values than on the optics, there are for of course no penalty.
The camera fits comfortably in your hand, the menu is virtually self-explanatory and the corresponding keys are smooth and respond well.
The pictures convince with beautiful, vivid colors and good image quality.
A special treat in addition to the water resistance diverse Spaßmodi as Blur, Mirror and comic effect and various frames and image captions, which may of course be applied or changed in retrospect.
The video function works fine, however, will be not used by me, as I usually only take pictures and not movies.
A little fiddly is the opening of the camera, but what is likely to be in a water-resistant device in the nature of things, and therefore, of course, does not lead to deduction of points.
More sophisticated amateur photographers will naturally miss several manual controls, but this one will not expect from a camera in this price range also.
As a relatively cheap fun camera on the go, so easily nothing resents, provides nice pictures and also makes a lot of fun with a lot of additional features, the Coolpix a great device for photo beginners, young people or as a second unit, especially under difficult conditions but as the beach or anywhere where you do not want to be burdened with a large camera bag.
For the price, I find the Coolpix highly recommended.
