Positive, we find:
- There are at "Cluedo - The Next Generation" a space in the middle where all players start and where also indicted. This is actually better than the classic Cluedo, because so all the players from the outset the same opportunities to get into the desired spaces and the way in the middle of all the rooms is similar to far.
- There is the advantage of cards that can be drawn when you reach no room, but a question mark.
The ideas it is very good, you can move to another room or allow a player to show one of his cards, for example, immediately. Unfortunately we could not try it in the game. The two of them are not used and in the five to ten rounds, we've played with "the next generation" with more than two players, it has never shown that anyone has landed on a question mark. There the rooms were always either achieved or the question mark boxes were also unreachable. We're not sure if that was now just bad luck or it's the arrangement.
- Gameplay continues to make fun
- Remain instrumentalities received as usual
Negative, we find:
- The quality of the card. Already when unpacking from the original packaging that easily nicked corners we noticed. Playing it has unfortunately become even worse. They will not keep long and determined we will probably resort to card holders (must) keep the game playable.
- The pawns. Instead of the known, plastic, beautifully painted and decorated pawns, there are in this variant transparent, look-alike plastic figures with question mark on it. We like that not so. Why the figures were not modern designed retained?
- No pins included. (We had the last book bought Edition, this was cheaper and there were 10 pins included)
Cluedo is and remains (in this version) a great game.
For us as Cluedofans but this variant is not. By changing the pawns and the moderene design of the game board (with garage, yard, bathroom with whirlpool, bedroom chaotic etc.) will be lost for us a big part of its charm.
Wen that does not bother, and whom the quality does not matter, can also draw on this variant.
Otherwise, I would not recommend the classic variant, since the differences in the game are not very big and the "atmosphere" there simply is voiced.
