I'm super happy with the laptop. For normal home use (Internet, e-mail, Office Standard applications etc ..) perfectly adequate! Why is it so cheap? Because no Windows operating system is only a DOS operating system with which you can start is not much, of course. Therefore one needs to have some "PC-craft" end levels at the thing finally got it to work. Here is very roughly summarized: 1) When Einschlaten you have the BIOS to the boot sequence for the CD / DVD drive to change first. No other operating system WIN DVD can indeed recognize / read at power. -> After switching "F2" button to get into BIOS. 2) As I said, a Windows installation DVD you need already, then booted from the will so that the Windows installation can begin. 3) If Windows is installed you have to install the whole ASUS HW driver. Included, however, only a driver CD for WIN 7 64bit (!) For any other operating system you have to download the drivers first in ASUS. It was interesting that there were only driver for Win 7 64bit or 32bit even with ASUS. Although you could also select "other", but presumably these are then only Windows which already had only standard driver anyway, and some drivers are missing compared to WIN 7 entirely. So my tip: install best WIN 7. 4) Only when all the drivers are installed properly work the laptop to the full extent and performance.
Hope this helps for all the lowbrow sosnt believe a cheap Windows laptop get.
Otherwise, as I said, a very good laptop for the price!
