The optics of the Canon 12x36 seems as full of contrasts that probably ED lenses are used, although this is not advertised in package or instructions. The focal point is narrowly defined, for me another Label optics.
At distant license plates becomes clear how helpful is the stabilization. Thus, for the rather high magnification use yet comfortable freehand.
The disadvantage I find that a continuous pressing of the release button is necessary for stabilization. In other glasses of IS mode when changing position of the glass is automatically turned off, which is more practical.
I wish I had found protective caps for the lenses attached.
Overall, I find the binoculars just fine. An IS is in walking more and more difficult (here just 700g), but for me it's worth it.
