After buying my new camera, I looked around the same for a matching screen protection. The prices of screen protectors are sometimes very high, therefore I have only once resorted to a favorable offer. The price was great - but then the problems started: the application of the film was extremely tedious. And again and again dipped, two small bubbles between film and display. Then again dust particles. When I had finally managed, I realized that the film easily scratched. This meant that when exposed to sunlight, the image could be seen on the screen hardly.
So I searched the internet with little hope for an alternative. And lo and behold - in photo forums was protective glass speech. But then again the disillusionment - apparently it's not easy to find a protective glass that fits on the large display of the A77. The few links to appropriate protective glasses that I could find, all resulted in products that were not available. It was also mentioned in some contributions that the foldout display the camera can no longer be closed with the display area inside after raising a glass protection.
I looked then at Amazon to and finally found what I was looking. The risk with the no longer possible closing the display I wanted to go - so I immediately ordered.
The price is just under 15 euros at the level of some screen protectors and so absolutely fine. The protective glass comes in a hinged shell of hard plastic and it is even a little dust cloth to clean the display with. The inscription on the back is written in a somewhat halbschwindeligen English, but there are also pictures that guide the ideal procedure when applying the protective glass. And so complicated, it is now again not:
The display of dust and fingerprints clean, then remove the protective film from the glass. At the bottom of the display protecting a 3M adhesive tape is applied around the entire edge. Now place the protective glass with the tape down (always clear) on the display. It fits perfectly. At the end still press gently with the cloth and you're done.
Well, it so easy then has not worked for me: Of course, a tiny speck of dust had cheated under the glass. But this has the advantage that I can now confirm that the Schautzglas can well settle back and then again glued easily.
And one more thing - the display of the A77 joins with the LCD side inwards without any problems. This fear was unfounded so! From me a strong buy recommendation.
