First she makes a very stable impression and very great processed.
The metal and design are the familiar retro look and feel again, like before.
First test images (in RAW) as compared to the GH3 show no or little difference with the same lens, shutter, etc.
Plus:
· The electronic viewfinder is great, almost like a mirror. Knackscharf and kaumst flicker. Here is the classic DSLR fan, slowly start to wonder. Also in relation to my GX7, this has always been kind of weird, unnatural, and the frame inside it, very disturbing when GX7. And if you slightly move the eye shadows arise. Thus, a very important benefit.
· Also the Monitor back knackscharf, very nice to look at the pictures and the menu.
· The water level much more sensitive than the GX7.
· Not so overloaded, faster trigger The information on the display to access touch &.
· The program wheel can be fixed.
· The little extra flash is quite strong to lighten indoors. This can be tilted and rotated.
· Depth of Field Preview.
· The display is well locked in the housing, almost too tightly.
· Very fast switch-on.
· Great-timer, barely audible and sounds very noble. In addition, various silent modes.
· All keys respond very well and are made wertig
· Weight and size, very good.
· With the Olympus app on the iPad & iPhone very well to control and wireless very easy to set up.
Minus:
· The menu and the buttons are very complex. The buttons or rocker got very small. The functions of the keys, when these are what make in dependencies. A little confusing. Here probably have to restore a book to as the manual but is too technical again.
· The flash is not so easy to activate, push on and losblitzen is not because you have to get back roll through the Menu. Also, the flash has a lock, so that it not so easy going, but it makes no difference whether you press Unlock or not, it is always about the same heavy or light.
· For time-lapse photography with external power supply, it is difficult. No separate access to the battery compartment. This is only possible via an additional handle (HLD-8G) and AC adapter (AC-3). Handle is again 130, and power supply in almost 90!
· The tripod socket is located too far forward, probably because the "balance, so that the large objective scope (Panasonic lenses) the bigger picture from the tripod first applied to the lens, thus it would come here to stress. It would be better that in the middle, or would the camera base 2mm higher.
· The big minus, the camera handle a lot of small, very soon I get a clenched hand. Here probably has slammed the retro style. This is designed more for the GX7. ME not portable, free-hand and with great lens even less. Remedy is probably only back above the handle.
· Both Dials can be adjusted to easily, but that is with most cameras that.
In short, a great designed retro camera, with a few significant drawbacks.
These drawbacks, in particular the small to handle, is the price of 1100 - m. E. too high. Since you should wait a bit.
