Before a Technisat S1 was with Unicam module used (Original purchase price together nearly 200). Unfortunately, the Unicam module was suddenly no longer erkant. I did not like both devices durchzuprüfen because yes again no one wants to be responsible for the failure gradually. (Technisat says it is the module, the seller from the receiver module says). So let me both in peace I buy me something new :)
The receiver was as usual after just a few days and just needed to be connected shortly. The receiver was pre-configured, all programs were already without interference seen. The switching times are perfectly fine. The Hammer: Sky card inserted and immediately without long back and forth transmitter was the Sky display.
Compared to the Technisat I have to say that the user interface is designed completely user-friendly. The surface looks somehow less wiring and valent as the Technisat.
I've tested so an external hard drive connected (500GB Intenso (not the Y cable but a short mini USB cable)) and PVR functions.
Surprise: It does not go. So let's press the Timeshift button. Again a funny fact. The picture remains are the audio remains playing. In the form is not good for.
So I pitched for the first time and found that I have done everything right the manual. I then wanted simply times the net for firmware and have found many postings. So just drawn without much reading a firmware to the plate and briefly installed on the receiver. Go easy.
Behold: PVR functions and a few additional functions there. Also record goes, the play runs. Perfectly!
Now I wanted to pick the 1 with asterisks nor from the receiver and tried to connect it with my Herserver NAS system of Synology. Unfortunately, this feature as I have read is probably not possible. Thus, the Media Player will only play data of the connected hard disk. Streaming via network not possible.
The web applications I try out not great, because I find this more than meaningless. Although, witty: The manufacturer has "Youporn" pre-installed, after all, provided with parental control PIN. Something I'm at a receiver never seen, does not bother me but also because we have no children. Dear Parents, change the parental control PIN :)
All in all, has not the same even if everything worked right away, I forgive 5 Stars. This receiver solves my situation more than satisfactory. Honestly, of course, even the rental receiver of Sky much better (in the living room), but the cost more than three times! As a second receiver perfectly okay.

In spite of the little things I do not like, full 5 stars. More can not be expected of the customer for the small price. The manufacturer seems quite open to deal with the fact that third parties bring out another firmware. Clear advantage over Technisat, which is now give favorable including a CI + module that I can no longer recommend;)
