I run the tripod mainly with my Canon 600D, which is equipped with the Magic Lantern Firmware and is actually purchased by me just for films and used.
After I had occupied myself something with the theme and balance adjustment, the stand was within minutes to the perfect camera and the Tamron 17-50 2.8 adjusted VC. But for this I had to remove 4 of 6 weights. The subsequent "drop test" (No, Do not drop the camera, but increased temporarily to 90 degrees and can commute, this should take about 1-2 seconds a pendulum motion, so slow run) went smoothly and the camera has been well stabilized.
I would almost say that this version of the floating tripod least the weight of a 600D or comparable camera needs and is designed more for heavier cameras. My Sony NEX-6 with 16-50 mm lens is too easy here. However, I use it and also to the Canon Walimex usually fixed focal lengths, so this version was the right choice. With a little patience, intelligence, fine motor skills and some internet research you get very quickly towards a stable system.
It is impressive how smoothly the bearings of the gimbal. All this runs very smooth and absolutely silent. Also, the silicone grip is solid at me and twists (so far) not yet.
Do not underestimate the weight of the entire system. I'm 1,85m and not just weak, but the arm muscles are already heavily used. Should I use the system frequently and for longer, I'll probably have to buy a vest of Tarion.
