Since it had not yet in stock Amazon and I then got to get a Rode NT-USB before release the opportunity, I naturally seized the opportunity.
When unboxing I was initially a little disappointed, not from the microphone itself, but from the accessories.
The images in the product presentation betrayed not a lot of simple plastic, where I actually expected metal. The tripod table stand is made entirely of plastic, the pop screen is also made of plastic but least is the mesh of metal.
The microphone itself is then made of metal. The workmanship is excellent and the fresh design knows how to please at first attempt. The sides of the body are flattened on the right side are then the potentiometers and the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Turning the knob to the right first playback is louder and the own voice quieter, turning the knob to the left, you can hear his own voice loud and playback quieter. The 2nd controller is responsible for the volume of the headphone
In Basket a small discreet purple / blue LED is installed which indicates whether the microphone is ready for operation. The basket is the way oval shaped, which I like very well.
A pop screen not only looks stylish but also makes a really good job, I would have not expected now. The same is true for the table stand, assuming you mounted the mic properly, then the tripod holding the microphone safe and well, but I can not do anything with this table stand still.
The sound of the Rode NT USB is really good and the inherent noise of about 14 dB is barely perceptible, just fantastic. I use the microphone for voice recordings. Without problems the microphone is recognized under Win 8.1, the same also under Win 7 and even the Playstation 4 detects the microphone)
For currently 159 Euro gets a really good sounding and low noise USB microphone that is worth the money. I would buy it again.
