I'm not a Lightning fan, although I have a Aufsteckblitz added myself and also the insets. Whenever possible, I prefer people / groups on events / celebrations to take pictures without large Trimtram, distraction and attention. But enough light is necessary in order not to get into infinite ISO smoking to darker images, is an alternative to flash a very fast lens required (or a very good low-noise camera, where you then but should look around more in the full-frame area).
I'm looking for my D90 for Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm 1: 1.8 g decided taking into account the following points:
(+/-) Imaging performance OK
(-) Autofocus is not the fastest ...
(-) Looks very much like plastic
(+) Beautiful bokeh effects possible (Focus)
(+) Light intensity is just great
(+) Price - extremely cheap
(+) Very compact and lightweight, ideal second lens to take away (slips easily / take)
If one chooses the maximum large aperture (1.8), but you should be aware that it is better to intervene when focusing in auto focus control, as just may cause the focus to the fact that the auto focus, if necessary, perhaps in facial hair but not the eye focuses. The lens is in terms of focal length (35mm) not really suitable for architectural photography or groups over 4 people (just as the idea of what one with 35mm still as it gets).
Can recommend the lens due to the unbeatable price. Class lens for portrait photography.
Who imaging performance are more important, perhaps, a certain variable focal length scope (eg also suitable for larger groups and architectural photography.) And also has a bigger budget for Vergügung, I recommend rather the Sigma 18-35 1: 8 DC HSM ( about 700EUR) - more expensive, but again, for what you get top value for money!
Addition:
Wen's interested, here's a tip for focusing, especially with large aperture ...
Menu> Custom Settings -> Auto Focus -> AF mode -> Single AF
here I have mine actually positioned by default in the middle. You can adjust the individual measurement field using the arrow keys. Now, if you want to do a portrait ... -> I focus with the AF eyes mine counterpart -> press + then hold the button "AE-L / AF-L" (= keeps the focal point), then fit the image area to (in the meantime, you can release trigger key again as the focal point on AE-L / AF-L has been found) -> and then press the shutter button only really through.
Sounds at the first time to maybe complicated, I already solve now but no longer different, total automatism has become with me. The technique has the advantage
(+) Which has sharp faces,
(-) But unfortunately the disadvantage that you can forget at camera person, that the auto focus is still set to Single AF and camera-lay (or Nikon do not know) only produce blurry photos (me has often happened), because the focus point is somewhere in the background
-> It therefore advises You to camera surrender a) via the above menu again the "Auto-area AF" reset or b) more likely to choose the automatic mode directly (better a not so great photo opportunity, as a non-usable photo).
