Once I ordered a replacement from Amazon, I have to correct my review after a week. The problem with the "ghost" effect has not occurred in the new A1. If this continues, it can not be beat for the price and has actually in the price range up to 200 at the time a unique selling point: absolutely solid build quality and good performance with a sufficient Android 2.3.4 at an unbeatable price. I have it for 159, - purchased.
Meet the performance or exceed my Samsung Galaxy S, but I now have a handy 7 "tablet with good battery life (even under heavy use - books, games, Internet - about 1.5 to 2 days) and little quirks.
I am thinking the launcher, the built-in applications (less bad than Samsung) and sometimes a bit bumpy adjustment to a non-telephony device. But all you can certainly rectify yourself (rooting, new launcher, maybe someday a Cyanogenmod).
If one does not want to, but you can live with it.
I highly recommend this device if one does not expect a iPad or Galaxy Tab N-competitors (are me way too big). If you want a machine with a defective touch screen (see below) will receive, should not spend time on it, but ordered from Amazon a replacement unit.
Original Review:
Actually, the Lenovo A1 is a great device. It is solid processed, small, handy and inexpensive. Lenovo has itself also has a reputation as a manufacturer of business machines.
But that A1 has a probably not so rare problem with the touch screen on some devices. There occurs the so-called "ghost effect" on:. The touchscreen is extremely sensitive and partially wrong to touch to enter.
It helps only a re-calibration of the touch screen, for you have to boot into the recovery menu of the device. I do this every day (other reports of different frequencies), because the calibration has no effect in the long run.
In any case, I find that extremely unfortunate because the Tablet is rock solid per se. But Lenovo did not deliver an opinion on the issue, although it will be read in the English-speaking forum about it, I can not even be sure if the "Ghost" effect with a firmware update is unrecoverable.
Therefore, I give the device back. Still, I give it two stars because the device must be probably revised only slightly. Then it has deserved for the value for money 5 star.
