Because of the good reviews we decided to Kenwood. After we took into operation the new device for the first time, the disappointment was great: The toasting process was accompanied by a clearly audible buzzing sound. So only 'times annoyed, packed the thing again and sent back. The replacement unit was not long in coming. Unpack, turn on and ... rrrrrr ... there it was again, a bit quieter but still clearly audible (even over several meters distance between kitchen and dining room). We have then, after we had prepared some charges toast, decided due to the very good result toast to take the seemingly standard hum in purchase and keep the device. So a star deduction for humming noise, otherwise a great toaster.
Addendum: The toaster has the warranty period just survived so. After almost two and a half years there has been during a toasting a loud bang from the kitchen - smoldering and stinking of Kenwood had ceased operations. I disassembled the device and can make a exploded Elko as the cause. The shreds of the component were distributed throughout the interior of the unit. That means two more star deduction - I would not recommend the device.
