So I would have bought the album, if not Pink Floyd had it been? It is not as unlikely as it sounds good, if you do not 'Dark Side of the Moon' or 'Division Bell' expected, but just want to quietly rippling through the Pink Floyd Sound. Pink Floyd makes interesting music, even if it only passes, rather than blow away walls.
Would not Pink Floyd on it, I would have continued after the band been asking me to have a tape found in the hope that will be rocking with this atmospheric sound. As a concept album I would have liked more rock, but I think also a continuation of the Endless River would be interesting enough to listen.
So we turn to the question: Was this album a bad buy? No, I got a faint, athmosphärisches album that not turning up myself, which one can listen but relaxed. This is to my mind not typical of Pink Floyd that a music rather runterholt. It is a Pink Floyd album, you can hear in other situations than the previous model and therefore quite an asset. And so I have to say that the album quite fully met a meaningful for me quality characteristic: The surprise that it already is (almost) over, when you arrive at "Louder Than Words" where you actually like listening to another hour would have.
Update from 21:11 .: increased from 4 to 5 stars. The album continues to run in heavy rotation, occasionally interrupted by 'The Division Bell' There now two weeks every day for at least 2 times running, the music is good, the quotes are fun and I still find it from start to finish interesting, seem to me 4 star now as inappropriate. 2 weeks to create just that I put my time take me with proper headphones on the couch is very rare. Would nevertheless only more bands find their approach would Highlights of the leftovers from Pink Floyd ...
