Setup is simple: just go to the site [...] to download the latest version of the configuration software.
Once the software is installed (just follow what is requested) the configuration is simple.
We must bring references of our equipment for the configuration software automatically proposes a configuration.
It may at any time add an activity (function) as "listen to a CD" and the software offers you the equipment that is supposed to read CDs with which you request your unit you adjust the sound volume and etc .. voila.
Once you have defined activities, simply update your remote control (clicking on the button for this purpose in the configuration software) connected to your USB port on your computer. The remote update, simply choose the desired activity (displayed on the screen of the remote control) so that the various devices set off and are configured correctly (TV over HDMI and start the DVD player to watch a eg DVD.)
From the first configuration, all my activities working, (my configuration is a Philips chain with integrated DVD player, a former TV LCD 32 "Full HD Acer, a 6500A DVICO TVix case with HD TV tuner and game console Nintendo Wii ): I am amazed!
Done for me all these remote controls! the Harmony 650 replaces very well.
For enthusiasts (geeks) technique, each control (the remote control) for each activity can be manually configured.
What more? I can only advise those who like me want to reduce the number of remote controls to use.
PS configuration software works great even on Windows 7 Windows 7 64-bit.
