Here the most noteworthy in my view the advantages and disadvantages:
+ The interface is clean and precise. So trees are not violated, a metal bracket can also be pulled out as a spacer. The cutting head can be rotated by 90 degrees to cut clean lawn edges. Instead a nylon thread, this model uses a plastic knife, but high I see no difference in average earnings (we had previously with a thread).
+ The engine is a two-stage thanks to speed even with high and thick grass very powerful, not blocked and does not need to hide from its cable counterparts.
+ Especially nice is the quiet, low-vibration operation, the light weight and ergonomic design. The sturdy side handle and the easy height adjustment, the grass trimmers can be adjusted to personal needs. Compared very gentle on the back!
+ Fast Charger: for the loading times currently in the product description on Amazon and Bosch contradictory information. My experience has been that with the supplied charger (AL 2215 CV) of 1.5 Ah battery in approx. Is 1 hour recharged and then holds up to 25 minutes in use. However, this time is reduced whenever the highest level engine is used, the grass is particularly high or tight or the knife is continually thwarted by objects such as stones. But if one has other devices from the 18V family, such as the drill, so you can also use these batteries as a substitute and work without interruption.
+/- The blades are made of plastic (or more precisely of a nylon composite) and are in this new model "up to twelve times longer than conventional blades hold". And indeed: the wear of the blade during use is acceptable, even if times on a harder object like a stone hit (s image.). Supplied unfortunately is just one replacement blade, so that the supply should not be forgotten (Bosch Part No. F 016 800 372). As with other models with a nylon cord, this is a profitable business system! And currently also expensive, since there is the novel plastic blade only by the manufacturer and not by a reasonable third party.
Replacement blades are attached to the telescope style and secured by the battery against inadvertent falling out. If necessary, the blades are locally hand and quickly interchangeable.
- The manual is, as unfortunately at Bosch common unreasonable. The assembly consisting of only a few descriptions pictograms and it is not mentioned that a special screwdriver is necessary for the mounting of the protective hood. These are Allen screws, for a "Hex-Plus" bit is necessary (see Fig.). This has also not everyone ready. In our example, the screwdriver shaft was too thick and did not fit into the channel on the cover. A miserable fumbling was.
The base plate is still attached to the blade at the end. However, in my device the holder was already damaged on delivery. A flying around the cardboard mini plastic part turned out to be broken lock, so that the base plate can be fastened with a "click" and does not come off independently. The plate sits very tight on the holder, so I do not see this danger - at least it is sitting after the first few times it still rock solid. And there is still a second detent.
Apart from the above disadvantages, a recommended trimmer: handy, quiet and thoroughly.
