The thread for screwing the thermostat is indeed only made of plastic, but it works fine and the thermostat keeps very well. On the picture it looks a little tight, but also the distance from the radiator is sufficient for an electronic thermostat with a slightly larger housing (with me HomeExpert Rondostat HR25). Conclusion: a super convenient and inexpensive part to deflect the valve, for example if the distance to the wall is too short.
