The cooperation with Tarja was indeed rather suspect that the style rather go back into the old direction of the albums. Instead, one expects an album that brims with power. Gone are the quiet times when Sharon's voice could convince with melodic sounds as in "Heart of Everything" or "An Acoustic Night At The Theatre". Indicated to this had been in "Unforgiving", in which the tracks were powerful and dynamic. Could "Unforgiving" enjoying a little settle as overall album, but this falls unusually difficult at hydra.
Individual tracks can convince. Single out was "Edge of the World (Track 5)". A beautiful ballad in itself, but which is also how the whole album driven by Power. In any case, this impression arises when you let sink in the overall impression of the album.
In addition to the songs made sure class, as a single album, it is not convincing, the same applies to the bonus tracks on the deluxe version, which offer little or no value.
For completeness a brief assessment of the tracks:
01 Let Us Burn: strong rock number that promises more than the album has to offer afterwards. Solider WT track without really convincing.
02 Dangerous feat. Howard Jones: probably the song that represents the dynamics of the album. Who was on a concert of the World Tour, will know that Sharon's Asset with her voice in this song just too goes down. In the former, listening still interesting, annoying this song on duration rather on the album.
03 And We Run feat. Xzibit: very interesting version, in the WT proves that break new ground, not always just have to be bad. Cool crossover number!
04 Paradise (What About Us) feat. Tarja: Power song that alone can convince, but somehow not fit the album.
05 Edge of the World: beautiful ballad that can convince Sharon's voice.
06 Silver Moonlight: In my view, the weakest song on the album because it just sounds loud and a comic series of typical WT elements. Probably one of the songs on which most the ghosts.
07 Covered By Roses: The Good Mood rock song of the album. Sounds very mainstream, but knows how to please.
08 Dog Days: The "quietest" number on the album. Who delights in Sharon's voice has this track certainly a lot of fun, even if the number is in itself very spectacular.
09 Tell Me Why: falls more under the category loud and not mine. Positive expressed: Now again the guitars are unpacked. In my opinion, the proof that the idea of old elements like "What Have You Done" does not fit with the "new" style
10 Whole World Is Watching feat. Dave Pirner: a ballad at the end of an inconclusive album
Surprisingly, knew the concert of the World Tour 2014 in the many songs from the new album are introduced to fallen significantly over the album. We've come full circle back to the beginning when I said that to complement the songs made the new tracks are great, but there simply is not convincing as an individual album.
