This first album released in 1991 contains a number of obvious references, but the animal is clever because it mixes quite subtle. Thus, the first title, "Field of joy", we recognize easily the tab Beatles ("Straberry field forever") on which is superimposed in the middle of the song a very successful solo zeppelinesque all. Lenny sings well, we stomp, we are happy, they do not need more! "On Always on the run" Lenny recruited Slash from Guns & Roses, a guitarist in brilliant style that fits with this erzatz Aerosmith ("Walk this way") or BBA ("superstition"). Again good job with the welcome addition of a horn section that enriches a somewhat basic riff.
The beginning of "Stand by my woman" copy shamefully "imagine" Lennon then deviated towards something more American, pop crooner kind (optional). A little boring though. Same for the next track, "It is not over till it over," somewhere between Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye. This guy really has a gift for copy at one point I even thought it was a recovery and well no! Well, we will not do the whole, everyone has understood the operation of Mr. However, it is noted that "The difference is why" borrows again to the Beatles ("dear prudence", "I want you") that "stop draggin 'Around" sounds like a heard something (Jeff Beck Group?), Finally that "when the morning turns tonight" is a pumping rule Faces with Rod Stewart.
Four stars because we must not encourage vice. Copy that is not good! Even when it's good ...
