The picture quality of the Fuji-macros can be more than excellent and corresponds to the current standard in the lens market. It already supplies with open aperture 2.4 from the center to the corners tack-sharp, high-contrast images. The included metal lens hood is slightly oversized for my taste, but served its purpose. Due to the recent front lens I use them quite rare. One should not neglect that the lens only a magnification ratio of 1: 2. For absolute blast macros that is perhaps a bit too little. Combined with now available on the market automatic extension tubes can compensate to some extent. The lens is often touted as a portrait lens - this in my opinion, the speed of the autofocus is not enough - but he always finds fail his goal. Was the autofocus in conjunction with the X-E1 share as still a headache, it is perfectly acceptable with the further developed X-E2.
All in all a really good lens with super optical performance and light weaknesses during AF.
