I use this switch to an older, used as a second TV plasma screen, which offers only 2 HDMI 1.1 inputs. These were fully occupied with HDTV tuner and Blu-ray player. Since arriving in the next few days but my Fire TV stick and I do not want to constantly re stuck, my offer for this switch was just right.
Of course there are those HDMI switches also cheaper, but in the past I had already made very bad experiences with cheap (especially mechanical) Toslink switches in the audio field, so that has prevailed the knowledge with me that a little more money, ultimately a good investment is. As the saying goes: Who buys cheap, buys twice. This applies almost without restriction in my experience for switches in the audio / video.
As expected, this Oehlbach switch having an excellent workmanship and functioning properly. An external power adapter is included, should in most cases not be necessary, however. At least for me, the switch via the HDMI cable is supplied with sufficient power.
Via a button on the unit or the small infrared remote control can switch easily the entrance. Two green, but quite bright LEDs (brightness could sensitive souls at least in dark places feel as disturbing) provide information on the power supply and the currently selected input.
3D, 4K and even Full HD signals I have naturally not tested (the TV from 2007 supports only HD Ready, ie 720p), but when a well-known manufacturers such as Oehlbach promises that these signals are passed easily, with the Security too. In my 576i / p and 720p signals I can in any case not even notice a degradation in signal quality any instability of the signal. That's how it should be.
Full recommendation from my side, even though the (regular) price hurts something.
