For me, however, the transfer rate was decisive in this case. This I have tested the program H2testw Version 1.4 from c't magazine (available at [...]):
Transcend JetFlash V30 read 11.8 MByte / s, write 5,49 MByte / s
OCZ Rally2 read 23.2 MByte / s, write 9,64 MByte / s
Conclusion: The stick of OCZ is read twice as fast as the stick of Transcend. When writing it behaves almost similar.
The OCZ drive is about 7 cm long, 1.5 cm wide and 0.8 cm thick and packed in an aluminum housing. With its sleek design, only one USB port is occupied. That's why probably is not a USB cable! The glowing orange light is brighter than usual and illuminates continuously. Only reading and writing on the stick it flickers them accordingly. In low ambient light, the orange light is certainly eye-catching. In normal ambient light, it does not bother my opinion. The cap can easily be lost because it is not backed up.
The Transcend JetFlash V30 is actually 1 cm shorter, has no optical signal and the cap goes here lost quickly. The detection works flawlessly with both USB sticks under Windows XP (SP3). For reliability of OCZ sticks I can make no statement because of the comparatively short period of use. The Transcend JetFlash V30 is about a 1/2 year old and is still working properly.
Overall, the OCZ stick makes a robust and high quality impression. The Transferrrate stands out sharply from the average. I highly recommend this drive fully.
