High resolution, good day vision, mediocre infrared vision.

This dome camera is in this price range a good product. I use 4 of them for home monitoring in conjunction with a Synology Disk Station 214+. The camera provides two parallel streams, an H.264-encoded with a resolution up to 3MP and a low-resolution MJPEG stream. While the hardware is convincing, I must add my voice to the many negative comments about the software. This is not very fit for use. But that does not me, because I use the Synology DiskStation for all software-related activities (motion detection, notification, recording control). The Trendnet TV-IP311PI is in the compatibility list from Synology, so it can be integrated both natively and via the generic ONVIF protocol without any problems.

However, in this context, that bothers me that I can tap only a stream at a given time on the Synology DiskStation, not two parallel. The camera supports actually, but here it seems the connection by Synology to be not yet fully mature. I need the second parallels (low resolution) Stream to support the connection of mobile devices. This reach beyond LTE yes only low bandwidth.

Not completely convinced me the night vision capability. The sharpness and -ausleuchtung here is not nearly as exhilarating as the day vision, for this price range but still better than average.

Update 02/02/2015: The provision of the second stream in the Synology DiskStation works now, if one changes the Hikvision-profile (DS-2CD2132i).
