Unpacking and initial start-up were completed in less than 2 minutes (without guidance). The two adapter recognized immediately and the data transmission took place without any problems.
However, since each adapter would connect with anyone who exists in the same home network, you can pair the adapter with each other and thus prevent unwanted access by other Powerline devices. Unfortunately, this did not work right away.
In Quick Guide (English) and the Mini-Manual (German) were already two different descriptions of how this is supposed to happen, but it did not work out. Only after consultation with the large, English instructions it worked, as it is described in more detail here and, above all else.
The included software to rename the adapter and read out, is not free of errors.
On my laptop with Windows Vista Home 32bit, the installation worked immediately and I had access to the Powerline Adapter. On the big PC with Windows 7 Professional 64bit was indeed installed properly, but I did not manage to start the application. Even repeated installation, reboot and Admin rights brought no improvement.
Technically, I could not achieve nearly the specified 600 Mbps. These are, unfortunately, again pure laboratory words under ideal conditions. To test, I copied a 1384 MByte file over the network (Gigabit) from the NAS to the notebook, each with 3 different combinations.
1. The same phase and fuse (sockets hanging even on the same harness).
Duration 1:30 min., Throughput of 123 Mbps (lt. TP-Link Software Connect with 337 Mbps)
2. Same phase, other assurance
Duration 2:08 min., 86.5 Mbps throughput (lt. TP-Link Software Connect with 320 Mbps)
3. Other phase
Duration 2:16 min., 81.4 Mbps throughput (lt. TP-Link Software Connect with 225 Mbps)
Even if the adapter sitting on 2 sockets, which are supplied via the same cable (just over 3 meters cable run), only about 1/4 of the maximum capacity is reached. As I had hoped for more. With a modern wireless networking standard, here is more power in it.
It works stable, but as far as the performance hintendran remains and the manual (s) are sometimes inaccurate and almost exclusively in English, only 3 stars.
