I am a big fan of Unheilig, but I am disappointed with this single. The greatest strength of Unholy always lay far in the texts, profound, directly in the head and heart as possible. He did it with words to conjure up images in the minds of his listeners. In "As if it were the first time," but it can no longer discover much. Words and phrases, as well as the melody come to me from the last album very familiar. Only this time me that certain something is missing. It seems, unfortunately, like a tepid rehash of his previous chart-topping singles. And if I, however, "Be my light" comparisons (for me one of his finest ballads) I find it hard to believe that two songs from the same artist originate. It simply notice that the texts recently become more simple and general, yes simply inconsequential. So the fan can maybe sing along quickly, but stay for my taste expressiveness and feeling, unfortunately too much on the line. Since "Grosse Freiheit" me has cast a spell over the count, I've then got gradually all albums and hear me through absolutely all of his older pieces. So I can well understand why mourn so many fans of his old music. I agree there and would like to see also that the Count moves again in the future a little more back to its roots.
For his, as always, great voice, there is a 2 star rating, but a buy recommendation I can give for this single.
If only all interested parties recommend getting a listen more extensively in his older albums, if they have not already done so. Especially his album "puppet" is a masterpiece.
