So we'll 25,80Euro two 40mm fans.
Unwrapped, connected - disillusionment! With 12V of simply just like any other 40mm fan sounds. High frequency fan noise with strong rushing air.
-> A Low Noise Adapter plugged => hardly an improvement. Sounds to me honestly just as without LNA
-> A second LNA placed in series before => better, but still clearly audible.
I had to test the fans just as it is operated on the table on a foam pad and judges from approximately 1m distance.
Since the fan but really awesome 40mm look due to the small motor and move properly air I'll keep them. Currently run by Y-whip on "System FAN" connector of my motherboard (not PWM but Constant voltage!) And get up to 50 ° C CPU temperature 30% (whatever voltage corresponding). A draft is therefore still noticeable and you can hear it from only 10cm distance quietly.
PRO:
+ The fans have zero bearing grinding or otherwise.
+ If regulated far down then absolutely inaudible, with correspondingly little airflow.
+ Optics: 40mm the camp is pretty small and in my Mini CASECON he cuts a fine figure.
CONTRA:
- 17,9dB (A) may be already: unfortunately in an unpleasant to humans frequency range, here an indication in Sone would make more sense.
- Useless accessories: LNA adapter brings nothing, rather just without operating and use more air flow
- Who needs an extension cord for a 40mm fan? coming anyway but only in small systems where there is no place and not in Big Tower ...
- Giant packing, what an environmental sin! The "Apple" experience what has been achieved to the touch is made when unpacking through thin plastic naught, which you get back in the box only with effort. Here the thought comes to this so I have thrown my money.
Conclusion:
Since one in 40mm fans anyway must always make compromises because of air flow volume I can no recommendation. In normal operation, the Noctua is deutlichst (!) Audible and not how often mistakenly reviewed very quiet.
Due to other Bewertunden I had higher expectations than I probably to a 40mm fan should have. So I'm a bit disappointed and am not sure if they are worth the price. I would have bought it rather for 4 euros less without all the accessories. This is now just completely around in the OVP in the basement and the Y-cable I had to anyway even buy extra -.-
