With my new DSLR, a Nikon D5000, I have now fulfilled my dream and because I with the Hoya Pro1 UV blocking filters have very good experience, I now allowed myself the Polarizer from the same series. It was a good decision!
I use the filter on a Nikon AF-S 18-55mm VR lens and a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm / 1.8G lens. The filters I use mostly a for nature and landscape shots.
+ Comes the Hoya polarizing filter Cirk. Pro1 Digital 52mm in a solid, lined with soft foam, plastic box.
+ As with all filters Hoya (especially from the Pro1 series) the processing is impeccable. Distortion does not exist naturally.
+ The handling of the filter is easy - the screwing and unscrewing it also works at "coarser men hands" without fumbling.
+ With the front, wider, ring can be rotated on the lens of the filter by 360 °. On the ring a small triangle is attached as a label for the position of the filter.
+ I have made a number of test photographs. The result was impressive: The filter affects the result of "soft" to "very noticeable". This is especially when taking pictures of clouds against a blue sky (probably the classic test for Polarizer) detectable. The filter operates from very cautious to noticeable, depending on the selected setting itself at the front ring.
+ Buy recommendation - because less quality is not - even if it may cost a few extra Euros as a filter from other manufacturers. These are, however, worth my good photos!
