I expect from a compact camera no miracles, but this is by far the worst camera I've ever had in my hand. Actually, I'm outspoken supporter Canon and itself longtime EOS users, but with the camera Canon lost me a lot of points. About Features and functions can argue, but the camera produces so bad mud-images, I am shocked really. The SX610 was supposed to replace my nine-year-old PowerShot A620, which uses my wife. The A620 makes funnily enough still to worlds better pictures, unfortunately, is dead (push button jammed, display-outs etc.) it is clear that the sensor of the SX610 is smaller and much higher dissolves, as the sensor of the old and therefore noise is inevitable, but after nine years of development, I would at least expect the same image quality, but the difference is so great that this is actually only be explained by a defect. Even my about 5 years old Fuji Finepix for that time under 80 makes better pictures. In addition to the zoom is so fast that it is difficult to dose. You can call him almost as binary Zoom. Beside the point but annoying is still that the flash when it is not needed out-pops on its own, special you get only an indication and has to make up manually.
Conclusion: The camera goes back tomorrow without replacement. I'm not ready to take over the saved Canon final for a camera with a price above 200.
