When in 2006 I saw this book in bookstores I'm not interested me. I was probably because of the cover and the title of a thousand reasons to doubt that he was a detective. And word of mouth has been there and I bought it for an opinion. I must say it is a great surprise and I liked this novel for three reasons: 1) There is not one but two plots - the battle Mikael Blomkvist and Erika Berger founder of the newspaper "Millennium" to prove that the businessman Hans-Erik Wennerström is a real and ugly - survey Mikael made at the request of Henrik Vanger (industry 82 years) to find the murderer of his niece Harriet disappeared in 1966. 2) Stieg Larsson invented colorful characters. Some are crazy, others monstrous. I only mention Lisbeth Salander kind of rebellious young Gothic 25 years introverted but an IT know extraordinary and possessing an exceptional photographic memory and many useful Blomkwist Michael and Henrik Vanger and his family (crazy, old Nazis, alcoholics etc ...). The only one who comes in about "a certain standard" is Michael himself. Finally 3) This exciting thriller that knows how to create an atmosphere, we talk about details of daily life. We share the lives of all these people and it is completely immersed in the novel. Stieg Larsson gives a thickness to his book. It is far from thrilleurs or only the action account. I really enjoyed it.
