Now the details:
Reason for buying a new smartphone: my old (Galaxy S3) has given up three days before the holiday spirit ("sudden death"). Therefore quickly reingeschaut at my favorite dealer and what looked new. Since I have now on my notebook Windows 8.1 and also my tablet from Microsoft comes home (Surface RT), it was natural to look for a Windows Phone. Especially the good reviews regarding the battery life have made me curious. My Androidphones (S3 and before Motorola Razr) have kept just above the day.
Delivery: Prime Shipping, punctual as always.
Why Nokia 625? Best value for money, LTE and good battery life. Did not want to directly invest so much that it has to keep two years back to try out a Windows Phones. I have about 3 hours mobile phone comparison sites scoured before the election on Nokia fell. The camera does not have to be super good, because I use a SLR for holiday snaps. The screen resolution was not so important, because I can possibly use my tablet when there is a lot of reading / surfing.
Expected problem when upgrading: the necessary apps are not there. What I have found (either original or alternative app): Navigation (Here), encryption (BoxCryptor), KeePass (7Pass), Office (clear is there), OneNote, OneDrive, Kindle, Joyn (Nokia), LinkedIn, Xing , E-mail client IMAP (Outlook). Almost everything free!
Features: headset (ok), charger (pretty small), Micro-Quick Start Guide. The housing is made of plastic, the glass seems to be faster greasy, as the Galaxy. The device is slightly heavier than the S3, but with sleeves and bags that you have to have anyway so, does not fall on the. It fits comfortably in your hand, all the buttons are on the right side.
The camera takes good pictures; amazingly well does the app "Office Lens". This can be used receipts, documents and whiteboards photograph, prepare and send to OneNote. That's real improvement over Android.
Sound is good, Blutooth folds neatly, WiFi goes well. I had immediately LTE reception, although the supply is not 100% with me! Voice quality when making calls is good.
Navigation Here works better than Google or Navigon! As always, the maps are available offline, you only need the GPS function and can immediately (and I mean immediately) get started. I started in the holidays with the app and a normal TomTom as a backup. The backup I did not need. Also at the resort I could navigate easily, without having to be online to (roaming). Well, the synchronization of all devices. So I can create the favorites at the desk and then use on your phone.
After the first extended use I can confirm: battery holds 49 hours of Wi-Fi, switched 2G / 3G reception, Bluetooth is turned on at least 24 hours. Here: surfing, installed apps, sync photos with OneDrive, listened to music, etc. Will again send an update when I go through a comparison working.
The integration of Microsoft products works just fine. I will not go back to Android.
