Clearly, if you install four drives, it will be as if you had four different drives connected to your computer.
The advantage of this camera is that it takes up less space and there is only one cable to plug USB3.
Finally, the installation / connection is simple. Think still small screw handles on the HDD before inserting them in the box; this enables them out of the case easily.
