On vacation a few years ago I found the perfect sandal. She had a soft plastic footbed, not those miserable leather or felt pads that absorb the foot sweat so beautiful and then smack at every step, and perhaps even give off odors. The harness was discreet, well kept simple color. The shoe could be worn on any hike, it also made the water mind because the sole was indeed a kind of rubber and Textilbebänderung dried in a flash, with no stains. Unproblematic and easy care, perfect for traveling. But nothing lasts forever. The search began. From shop to shop, from search input to search. The SG brand products are totally overpriced and did not meet my expectations. Too colorful, not waterproof, too much harness and velcro fasteners. Especially, almost all not a simple plastic sole, which of course increases the wearing comfort, but not practical for my purposes.
This flops of Northland hats. He is strongly built, finally has the waterproof nature and in addition it is comfortable. And am ready for a price, I definitely pay more ... for a shoe to which hardly is there any truth ;-)
Only the sole is not as soft as that of the predecessor model ... but this brand is not easy to find again, as it was purchased abroad.
The advantages of "Northland Active Sandal":
+ Rubber sole with anti-slip profile in the footbed and robust tread for hiking
+ Ribbons instead of leather
+ Sufficient long Velcro fasteners
+ Price / performance in relation to "large" brand optimally
+ Little difference to their quality
-sole Must be a little broken in
Strong buy recommendation for anyone whose criteria are consistent with those described. Only the long-term test I have not denied, as the purchase is only a few days ago.
Addendum: After one year, I can attest to the shoe a good quality, with one exception: The sole is made of two components aneinandergeleimten. The outsole and footbed. These are beginning slowly but surely to solve each other, the bonding dissolves easily in some places, especially on the heel. I have asked the cobbler to repair, before they lost even more. Although the shoes are now about a year old, but they were (ie in good weather) worn only a few weeks. Thus, I find this lack ugly. The remaining parts of the shoe, harness, straps and velcro fasteners are still absolutely fine.
