All ports are accessible not only USB, Ethernet, Multimedia, SD card and power, but also the GPIO connector, the CSI (camera interface), and the DSI (LCD Display Interface).
The top cover can be opened is that you can, for example, new connections to the GPIO (the then afterwards can be brought out even when the lid is closed through the practical GPIO slot). If not needed, the lid sits thanks to two tabs firmly enough that it does not accidentally by itself on going, even if you turn the housing upside down. Of course there is the hinge on the right side (ie via USB and Ethernet ports), so you can really work without hindrance at the GPIO bar with open lid.
The housing is slightly higher than competitors, so that common Jumper Wires (as they are for example sold by Adafruit) also with closed housing fit on the GPIO pins. The downside to this are of course larger outer dimensions: the housing is externally almost 3.7 cm (thick)!
Unfortunately, the assembly is somewhat tricky: as the slots for GPIO, camera and display are indeed pre-punched, but laboriously extract from the plastic. Even the glued brown protective paper goes from difficult. Still 5 points, because you need to configure it so only once.
When will vuller's Tech a housing for the "new" B + have? Unfortunately had to dodge my B + to a competitor, which unfortunately by far not the quality has that has here from vuller's Tech.
