The rice cooker from Russell Hobbs appears partly from the same factory to come as the Aldi model: measuring cup, indoor unhd cover are virtually identical. What is rather less beautiful in this model of steam basket is made of plastic, partly badly cut plastic scraps at the holes) and in the device hooked so that less fits as the Aldi model. The insert was replaced directly by our leftover metal Garaufsatz from Aldi rice cooker that fits perfectly. Mir is metal because somehow rather than plastic when it is frequently exposed to the heat. The cable when rice cooker is not removable.
The manual is very open ("Some people say you must wash the rice, some say you should not, try it out and get your own notes ...") and for someone who for the first time with such a device works, perhaps confusing. Also is spoken of "cups" as a unit instead of "cups", because actually the English "Cup" and thus the enclosed measuring cup is meant.
Roughly speaking: 1 measure of water equivalent in steaming about 10 minutes cooking time.
Minimum capacity of rice: 2 cups water and make up to the mark "2 Cups". Then do not go wrong. And I can only recommend washing the rice before, it must not be so directly 10 washes :)
Especially basmati, jasmine and sushi rice succeed as expected very good.
The unit injected as such steamer without lid seal normally do all. Remedy creates a dishtowel on the lid. At spraying I disturb me not because I anyway you must clean after cooking and I do not believe in rice cooker with a rubber seal, which then eventually go moldy.
The manual states that the parts of the device are not allowed in the dishwasher. All loose parts from the previous model are already hiked with me in the dishwasher and have survived without any problems. As though the effect looks the Plastikgareinsatz of Russell Hobbs rice cooker, I can not say. But if it should be heat resistant enough for steaming, then the washer should certainly darstehen no problem.
Follow long-term experience, at least I hope that we will have some time to enjoy this rice cooker.
