The unit meets all my expectations. As an archivist, I use it to scan ancient texts (esp. Letters of the 18th century) for the further development. It has over a standard A4 flatbed scanner decisive advantages: First, there is no need to turn the leaves, to place them with the text face down on the scanner. This is namely for sensitive documents often problematic. Besides, it is may be difficult to align the piece exactly. Crucially, however, the old documents written mostly on paper in folio format and so a few centimeters longer than are A4 papers. With the hand-held scanner, the sheet can be left on the desk. By the markings on the device this EXAxt must be geared to the text and easily lead to the bottom of the sheet. This enter no text loss. The resolution is dpi so sufficient that most of the texts can be read easily even at 300, at 600 or 900 dpi so good that even difficult passages can be deciphered by magnification, usually better than the original. Of course you need a little practice to use, but which arises soon. More difficult is the scanning of bound documents, but here also encounter flat scanner soon reach their limits, so that only a profssioneller bookscanner lead to satisfactory Ergenissen. In the alternative, you can put a thin Acylglasscheibe on the submission to create a flat plane for Scannenzu. This, however, suffers nagturgemäß the sharpness of the image. But to read it anyway is usually sufficient. I have now scanned more than 2000 pages to the device and do not want to miss it!
