On the lens, there is respect. Feel and image quality almost nothing to complain about.
Contrast, color reproduction and distortion nonexistent are just great.
Why did I still pulled off a star:
The CA's at maximum aperture are so pronounced that the auto-correction of A7R can not compensate for it (of course, in JPEG mode meant and probably depending on whether you shoot with A7, A7R or A7S).
Since I like to get the picture effect directly from the camera and do not have a post-processing on the PC, I find it a shame given the price.
In addition, I can see version "SEL50F18" no better resolution and also no other Bokeh compared to the APS-C. I have alternately compared both lenses at the A6000 and the A7R with the same exposure conditions. The 100% screen lies not tell the difference.
The big advantage, however, is clearly that one, with the same picture quality to "full" sensor range and thus uses the "true" 55-er focal length really quality recordings - not just for portraits - gets.
From my perspective, there are friends for manual focusing at least evenly matched alternatives that do not require as much investment.
Who does not take the full resolution to complete, may be favorable to the SEL50F18 and receive picture stabilizes same picture effect.
STILL MY CONCLUSION:
It comes to this lens currently not around when one has gained a full-frame camera system and emphasis on distortion recordings with the entire sensor surface.
For me invaluable that faces or people are represented also at the edges without "body deformations".
