The advertised function "IGMP snooping" means that multicast packets are forwarded only to the ports on which a connected device has signaled his interest (make all network devices via so-called IGMP packets automatically when a program is started). This is in itself a nice thing to avoid unnecessary traffic. Unfortunately, the function is not correctly implemented here (with tcpdump controlled), so that really necessary traffic no longer takes place.
For a home network concretely: UPnP / DLNA servers on a port and clients on a different port does not work reliably. Have the switch against a NetGear GS105GE replaced and lo and behold, everything is OK!
